SPIRAL DYNAMICS: Dr. Don E. Beck, faculty at AGS, was invited to introduce spiral dynamics to 700 Fatah members in Palestine on February 2nd followed by a meeting with the Peres Center for Peace. high level Knesset members, and businesses in Israel during the week. They've received calls from Tony Blair's office, and have been invited back to work with 100-200,000 Palestinians this summer. The online PhD degree program is open to students holding a Masters Degree, 30 units of graduate credit, or a Bachelors (extra coursework required). The online PhD degree requires nine courses plus three terms of supervised writing. Faculty experienced in distance education encourage an interactive forum and a Socratic form of inquiry in collegial groups of 3-10 participants. 

The Capstone Project enables doctoral degree candidates to develop their own model for managing change in their own unique context through the analysis and critical examination of existing literature. Students will focus on qualitative methods and integrate multiple theories on change and complexity into a new functional management design. They will critique Adizes methods and other management applications, such as spiral dynamics, in context.

Systems Thinking: Modeling Complexity ...taught by Dr. Bruce LaRue, co-author of Leading Organizations from the Inside Out (2nd ed., 2006).

The Masters Degree requires 10 courses plus a thesis or written examination. Alternately, students holding a Bachelors Degree can enroll in a dual-track online Doctorate with or without completing a Masters Thesis or Exam. A total of 14 classes are required for the dual-track.

At the heart is the fundamental principle that organizations - like living organisms, have a natural lifecycle: they will exhibit predictable and repetitive patterns of behavior as they grow and age. At each new stage of development, they face a unique set of challenges. How well or poorly these challenges are addressed and necessary changes made, ultimately determines the sustainability of the organization. Dr. Adizes has received five (6) international honorary doctorates for his work.
Spiral Dynamics: Spiral Dynamics is an evolutionary-based framework that provides scaffolding upon which numerous other theories of management, leadership, motivation, organizational design, communication, and social change can either be built or integrated. It maps out specific strategies and tactics for the meshing of healthy systems and demonstrates the root causes of - and solutions to - unhealthy change in societal, organizational, and personal evolution. Spiral Dynamics provides a way of understanding the awakening and migration of ideas. It offers an integral context for thinking in terms of sustainability, sequences, systems, and life cycles.
